Lyon-Parilly Racecourse
Lyon-Parilly Racecourse is a horse-racing track in Bron, France. It opened in 1965, at Av. Pierre Mendès France.
History
It is located at Société des Courses de Lyon, 4-6 avenue Pierre Mendès-France, part of the Parc Départemental de Parilly in the municipalities of Bron, southeast of lyon, inaugurated in May 1965, and managed by the Lyon Racecourse Society, which also owns the Carré de Soie Racecourse in Vaulx-en-Velin.
Its multidisciplinary program organizes nearly 160 flat races, 150 trotting, and 50 Obstacles, including 6 Cross-Country every season. The racing season is divided into two meetings, from March to June and September to December.
Track Details
It has a pozzolana trotting track with a rope on the left, 1207 meters of turn, 22 meters wide, 400 meters of straight finish line, start with rubber bands and autostart, watered harrowed track. The distances are 1625m, 1609m, 2000m, 2100m, 2600m, 2825m, 4025m. Its Grass gallop track also has a rope on the left, with an 1800m turn, 28 meters wide, and 500 meters straight finish line. For the 2-year-old races, 1000 meters of straight line are planned. Starting stalls with timing (new upholstery). The distances are 1000m, 1200m, 1350m, 1600m, 2000m, 2400m, 2600m, 2800m, 3150m, 3400m. The bbstacle track has a 1700m turn, a track of hurdles, which are synthetic hurdles of 1m10 in height, by 1m in width approximately. The different distances are 3000m, 3150m, 3400m, 3800m, 4000m. In the steeplechase track, the different distances are 3000m, 3400m, 4100m. Types of obstacles of the course are live hedge, fence, embankment, tribune river, hedge, brook, oxer, open ditch, wall, and double barrier. Lastly, for the cross-country track, the different distances are 4000m (i.e. 22 obstacles), 4500m (i.e. 25 obstacles), 5200m (i.e. 28 obstacles). Types of obstacles are living hedge, embankment, free-edge ditch, bench, road passage, embankment, trunk, brook and sunken, ford, small upright, counter-high, volume, fence, and hedge.
The covered stands have 3,000 seats, while the reception has 15,000 seats (in front of the stands) and 5,000 seats (in the stands). Parking is free for spectators and professionals. The restaurants are The Maison Borgeot, The stables bistro, The Great Hall Bar, and The Bar of Scales. Some services are free WIFI access, a Children’s area, baptisms of ponies, an inflatable structure supervised by an animator, an Equal leisure center for 4–10-year-olds, and free guided tours.
