The Big Fresno Fair

The Big Fresno Fair is a horse-racing track in Fresno, California, United States. It opened in 1884 at Chance Ave.

History

Since 1884, the track was established by a group of local businessmen and professionals who served on the Farm Bureau and Chamber of Commerce, owned by Fresno County and leased to the Fair under a 50-year land lease that allows it to continue to operate. Then in 1941, pari-mutuel wagering came to Fresno. It is one of the first in the country to offer race calls in both English and Spanish and the fifth-largest Fair in the State of California.
