Hippodrome Marseille Borély
Hippodrome Marseille Borély is a horse-racing track in Marseille, France. It opened in November 4, 1861, at 16, avenue de Bonneveine.
History
On November 4, 1861, it took its first race meeting, located in the Parc Borély in Marseille, near the Château de Borély, at the avenue de Bonneveine. It was the headquarters of the Société Sportive de Marseille. On August 19, 1888, the Société Hippique des Bouches du Rhônes, a trotting company, was established. The trotting appeared in the track in 1963 with constructing a sand track inside the grass gallop track. On the other hand, Hurdle races were abandoned at the end of the 2018 season. In 2020, Borély organized 34 meetings, including 21 involving bets at the national level. Every year, Borély receives a Grand National du Trot stage in March and a stage of the Défi du Galop on the Grand Prix de Marseille in November.
