The Native Diver

The Bing Crosby meet at Del Mar is winding down. We don’t get to see many horses compete on the dirt nowadays due primarily to early retirements. We will have a small but competitive field going a mile and an eighth in the Native Diver.

Mirahmadi had been some what of a dissapointment prior to his last start. He put it all together on the front end and capitalized on a Pace Setting scenario. Coming off that big race and a likely different scenario i don’t know if we will see the same effort or result.

Ultra Power is improving while still lightly raced. It looks like Juan Hernandaz stay we here as opposed to sticking with the horse on the rail off that big effort. Ultra Power projects a nice trip and has to be viewed as a major player and probably goes off the favorite.

I want to like Skinner in here off that last come back sprint but he just never seems to put it all together. This might just be his best chance to so that as he has Pace to run at late and the sprint was obviously a tune up prep for this. I wish i saw more killer instinct from him but it is what it is.

Salesman, I’m not buying. Too inconsistent for me and I am not sure even his best wins this.

Tarantino is off two in a row against lesser. He looks a cut belle these to me.

Mixto was an upset winner of the Pacific Classic over this track but didn’t repeat or have the best of trips in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He goes back to Fresu in the saddle and should be in the garden spot. I see him bouncing back with a strong effort.

Six horses and four would be no surprise at all. I’ll take Mixto to sit the trip and redenta himself for the Breeders’ Cup Classic flop. He likes the track and can beat this kind on his best. The pace set up favore him and I think Fresu will have him in the right spot.

The AmWager performance of last weekend was at Del Mar. Will we see that again this weekend?
