The Perryville Stakes 2024
We’ll look at The Perryville at Keeneland which shaped up as a nice race, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t starting to get excited about the Breeders’ Cup. If you feel like we do and will be riding to and through the Breeders’ Cup with AmWager and Past the Wire, we have an early look at some contenders and pretenders for the big dance which will be here very soon! Have a look…..
The Perryville is scheduled to go with a full field of 12 at seven furlongs.
Henro was not dome any favors with the rail draw going seven, but he does possess the ability and is fast enough to contend here with the right trip. I’ll pass, however.
West Saratoga cuts back, an angle I like at seven furlongs, but he just doesn’t look good enough for me.
Knightsbridge has looked beautiful in his two starts. The lay-off did not faze him and he does not need the lead. I wish he was drawn outside but I will count on Junior to work out a trip and Mott to know what he has. I land here.
Who Dey can contend on his best but would need to bring nothing short of that and it would only make him a contender nit a sure winner. Pass.
Book em Danno is the deserving favorite and class of this race. He comes off three hard races and has been well managed. He is going to be a short price, and I am going to take a shot against him.
Goodlookinjustice has some speed but does not appear to be as good or as fast as some of these.
Patriot Spirit is another who looks a cut below at least a few of these.
Banjo Chris is improving but not fast enough for me to believe he can win here.
Dilger could upset this field if the pace gets hot and contested enough. That is a possibility, and I would not fault anyone who landed here. The price will be generous as well.
Locked was out in a tough spot for his comeback which was obviously delayed by something. If ready and the pace is hot he can contend but I will take a shot against him also.
Love Me tender has the right style for this track and is well drawn. I am not a believer in those Colonial races but a good horse can come from anywhere so if you are, the price will be right.
Epic Ride would not only have to be ready for his best but would also need a pace meltdown.
I will take a little shot with Knights bridge and definitely use Dilger somewhere behind him.
Enjoy the races!!!
