Fair Meadows
Fair Meadows is a horse-racing track in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. It opened in 1991, at the Exposition Square of the Tulsa State Fairgrounds.
History
On July 20, 1991, Fair Meadows Racetrack was opened, a large racetrack and betting center located in the Exposition Square of the Tulsa State Fairgrounds in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The track functions under the management of the Tulsa County Public Facilities Authority, which began in 1903, while the Expo Square was completed in 1966 at $3.5 million.
The track features horse races Thursday through Sunday from early June to late July at its facility in Expo Square, but only dirt racing is offered. The track is well known for the annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals and the Tulsa Shootout races. The track also hosted motorsport events, also owns a restaurant. Moreover, it is rated as a 16 for the purse index. Hence you probably see your share of low-level quarter horse races if you are a patron. It is not a racino, but only an OTB parlor. Considered as the junior track in Oklahoma.
Track Details
Its main track is five eights mile oval, length of stretch is 760 ft., while the chute is four furlongs and six one-half furlongs. It offers handicap accesses, food and beverage vendors, teller wagering locations, ATMs, programs, and Paddock Viewing Area.
They also implemented a set of strict rules. Outside food or beverage is not allowed, and firearms are not permitted, but service animals are permitted. When entering Expo Square, your image may be photographed through photography and video. All guests are subject to search for promotional purposes, and drones and any unmanned aerial vehicles are not permitted.
