Hippodrome De La Champagne
Hippodrome De La Champagne is a horse-racing track in Reims, Marne, France. It is opened in 1902, at Bois Soulain.
History
It was located at Bois Soulain before being rebuilt in its current location, which is in the heart of Reims on a former airfield, and held its first races in 1902. In 1952, Reims saw the organization of “La Grande Première” of the racecourse. The city now has a high-quality track that attracts the best drivers and the best horses. This same year was when the new Champagne TGV station was founded. In 1986, Reims was the first Racing Company in France to host a Point-Courses on its racecourse, followed by Lille, Laval, Argentan, etc.
In 2015 was the inauguration of the new racecourse in Reims. After two years without a race, the Reims racecourse reopened on March 15, 2015, located at Avenue Robert Schuman 51100 Reims, in the Marne, in the Champagne-Ardennes region north-western France. They changed almost everything on the track, including a refurbished grandstand and a connected racetrack. The Hippodrome de Reims is also called the Hippodrome de la Champagne, property of the City of Reims. It is the only one of national scope in Champagne-Ardenne.
