History
A horse track located in Le Mans, route de Tours, is classified in 1st Regional Category for Trotting races and 2nd category B for galloping races within the Anjou – Maine Federation. The Le Mans racing company is located at 27 bis, rue Pierre-Belon 72004 LE MANS CEDEX 1 FRANCE.
The Société des courses du Mans manage it, the only track in Sarthe with a 1350m sand trotting track (the other eight running on grass). In 2015, the Le Mans racecourse received a facelift, where the old stands dating from 1903 were recently replaced with a new grandstand. Moreover, the city of Le Mans carried out work around the entrance to the racecourse and the path leading to it. Nine meetings are organized each year, including so-called Premium meetings open to national issues (betting outside racetracks). Open on March-June, September-November.
Track Details
It races Harness, Thoroughbred, and Steeplechase with running direction is counterclockwise. There are 32 boxes and 47 stalls. There is also a panoramic restaurant. The entrance fee costs € 5 while it is free for women under 18.
