Waverley Racecourse
Waverley Racecourse is a horse-racing track in South Taranaki District, Wellington Region, New Zealand.
History
Waverley Racecourse is home to the Waverley Racing Club, which was established in 1874, located in Mindat.org Region, South Taranaki District, Wellington Region, New Zealand.
The racecourse was upgraded in 2005, and a new running rail was installed in April 2006. In the same year (2006), Country Punter of the Year was run for the first time. It features the Waverley Community Cup Day and holds three race meetings per year. Other race days at the Waverley Racecourse are in July and September.
Track Details
The racecourse has an 1800m left-handed track with a 375m straight. There are two grandstands (the Main Stand and the Members Stand), seven bars, and Marquees are available to hire for corporate/social functions. It has a carnival atmosphere with marquees, entertainment, live music, and kid’s entertainment.
