Woodville Racecourse
Woodville Racecourse is a horse-racing track in Woodville, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand. It opened in 1889, at 1032 McLean Street.
History
The track was established at Woodville in 1889. Woodville and Pahiatua were separate Racing Clubs until they amalgamated in 1986. The club now has members from all over the central districts, including Woodville, Pahiatua, and Dannevirke.
It is situated in Woodville, New Zealand. Woodville Racecourse is also known as “The Windmill Capital of New Zealand” and is home to Woodville-Pahiatua Racing Club (Inc). The Masterton Trotting club holds meetings at the track, along with Trentham, annually.
Track Details
It hosts five meetings a year, featuring the Woodville Cup Day, usually held on the first Saturday after New Year. It hosts Thoroughbred racing type with a running direction counterclockwise. The membership costs $45 annually, including free entry to the racecourse at all meetings and access to Members Stand.
